BIRS LOUNGE & READING ROOM
Welcome to the exclusive BIRS Lounge & Reading Room, reserved for the comfort and convenience of BIRS participants. Located on the second floor of the Professional Development Centre, these spaces are available for you to use during your stay. For directions, please inquire with the Front Desk staff.
BIRS Lounge
Step into the welcoming ambiance of the BIRS Lounge, appointed with a dining area, cocktail tables, and plush seating arrangements. Stay entertained with the provided TV, complete with HDMI connectivity for streaming movies from your personal devices. Enjoy complimentary access to our curated selection of math documentaries, featuring:
- Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani
- Journeys of Black Mathematicians: Forging Resilience
For your refreshment needs, our mini kitchenette is stocked with a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as snacks, available for purchase on a cash honor basis. Please kindly confine the consumption of alcoholic beverages to the Lounge area in compliance with our licensing regulations.
BIRS Reading Room
BIRS Reading Room, is set up with round conference tables and chairs- and the white board for any collaborative work. This space can accommodate up to 12 people at a time with existing seating or 20 standing. We have a library of books graciously donated by the American Math Society over the years. Feel free to explore at your convenience.
Banff Centre Library
Banff Centre has a unique library on the top floor of the Kinnear Centre, The Paul D. Fleck Library & Archives.
